EA: MotionPlus could convince non-Nintendo Wii owners to purchase

EA have said today that the technology within the upcoming Wii MotionPlus accessory could convince those who do not own a Nintendo Wii to buy. MotionPlus will feature 1:1 motion detection and is due to be released within the next few months.
When speaking to VideoGamer, EA’s Oliver Hughes said the new device will especially appeal to gamers who already know how to play a sport which the game is based on, EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis for example.
He explained: “It will probably appeal to two people. One) people who know about how to play the sport, and two) probably the more core gamer that maybe wasn’t playing so much on the Wii. It could bring a whole new audience of people to the Wii where they’ll get the level of experience they expect.”
When asked whether Wii MotionPlus could convince those who have previously been reluctant to pick up a Wii he said: “It might do. It certainly adds an extra level of depth to the control mechanism. Certain action games may have struggled before because there’s too much going on. Maybe now it’ll be able to handle that. I can see a whole host of people coming to the Wii who haven’t played the Wii before.”
EA certainly look to make use of the upcoming gadget. Check out the full story in the link above for more details.
