China gets Motorola MING A1210
By: Peter Chubb | March 26, 2009 | 1 CommentMotorola certainly have a strange business model, other cell phone makers are working hard at offering users new handsets with all the latest technology. This is not the case with Motorola, as they just can’t seem to let go of the past and keep offering up models that are years old and showing their age.
Another example of bring back old models is the Verizon Wireless Motorola Q9c is back from the dead.
Underwired View has discovered that the Motorola MING A1210 is just one of those phones that just don’t want to die, and has received a little update and is heading for China. The phone has already had a life in China a couple of years back, so will be experiencing a little deja vu.
The Motorola A1210 is a Linux based handset and comes with a 2.8” 240×400px touchscreen display as well as a 3.1 megapixel camera. The handset still has the same tri-band 2.5G GSM/EDGE, and has no support for 3G.
We mentioned in an article in January that Motorola handset division were laying of 50% of its staff, maybe this has halted a number of new handset models.
