Acer F1 Smartphone Release Date

Remember that list of new Smartphones that Acer said they were working on; well the Acer F1 model, which comes with Windows Mobile 6.5, will be launched in September 2009. If you thought that was good news, then the best is yet to come.

Unwired View has said that AllAboutPhones.nl was at the recent Acer press event, and told the guest there that a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will power the F1. This is the same processor that is powering the ultra-thin Toshiba TG01.

There is a difference between the two handsets though; the F1 will only run at 800MHz, unlike the Toshiba TG01, which runs at 1000MHz. The new F1 Smartphone will come with an Acer Suite 2.0 UI and will have ATI graphics.

The Acer F1 is expected to retail at €560 (about $758). That is a lot of money considering we are meant to be in a recession.
