Would you buy a Dell Smartphone or wait for new Apple iPhone

The rumors of a Dell Smartphone have now been going on for some time now, and Dell’s chief executive, Michael Dell has hinted at a recent conference in Tokyo that the company still wishes to come into the Smartphone and handheld market.

That is still not a confirmed admission, but Channelinsider did say that these were strong hints from the CEO. There is however two problems with a Dell Smartphone, the first was the fact that a prototype of a Dell Smartphone was shown to several carriers, and were rejected as not having enough features, as well as being boring.

The other major obstacle is a little device called the Apple iPhone, in the time that the Smartphone has been around, it has seen off competition from the likes of the BlackBerry Storm from RIM and the T-Mobile G1, the first handset to feature Google Android.

Dell also has to deal with the fact that there are a number of rumors that say that a new iPhone is coming in the summer, and that would cause a huge problem for Dell.
