Play.com Selling Unlocked 3G iPhone: Apple making way for new model
By: Peter Chubb | March 24, 2009 | 2 CommentsUK website Play.com has started to sell legally unlocked Apple iPhone 3G handsets, this is the first time that a UK website has been allowed to do so. This looks like another sign that Apple are trying to shift its old stock of 3G iPhone’s to make way its third model of the smartphone.
Play.com is selling both the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3Gs immediately, but you will need some deep pockets. The 8GB costs £549.99 and the 16GB costs £599.99, both come in black, there is no option for white. As with all orders from Play.com, delivery is free.
Before you consider purchasing an unlocked iPhone 3G, remember that a new model looks set to be launched in the summer and will come with a number of new features. You can be certain that the third iPhone will have a better battery, more performance, also a better camera, and video recording.
If you do want the new iPhone, then you have to remember that you have to be tied with O2 in the UK.
