There have been a numbers of rumors circulating the web that Ericsson will be parting company with Sony with their joint ventures in the production of cell phones. On Friday, it was reported that Ericsson would not be abandoning the Sony Ericsson joint venture.
Moco News reports that Ericsson spokesperson Minako Nakatsuma Olofzon had told the Dow Jones Newswires of its commitment to the partnership. Friday was not a great day for Ericsson shares, a result following Sony Ericsson’s warning that investors should expect a weak first quarter.
Sony Ericsson expects to shift around 14 million handsets in Q1, which is 37 percent down on the same period last year. Although Ericsson will be affected by these lower sales figures, it is not know how much these losses will be.
We do hope that Sony Ericsson keep up with its partnership, as they have made some great phones, they excel in their music performance and most other phone companies know that when it comes to camera performance, the Sony Ericsson with Cyber-shot blows the rest out of the water. One fine example of this is its 12.1MP camera phone that is to be launched in the second half of this year.
