Windows Mobile 6.5, features update and release date
By: Peter Chubb | March 23, 2009 | 4 CommentsLast week the news was dominated by the preview of Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone OS 3.0, which is said to have about 100 new features. Another popular mobile operating systems is Microsoft’s (MSFT) Windows Mobile 6.5, which is also receiving a number of updates over its previous version.
The first thing that you will notice on the latest Windows mobile OS are the larger icons, this means that it is now easier to use. The Honeycomb pattern did not go down well, which forced Microsoft to change the scheme a little, by just changing the chrome a little.
The Today screen is easy to navigate, just move or slide the selector bar; you can also spin the background until you find the choice that you want. The Today screen is a lot like Windows 6.1 standard slider panels, but with one major difference, 6.5 have full touchscreen support.
As yet there are still no confirmed details of a launch date, but Microsoft will want to make certain that they get all the features working perfectly.
Microsoft are also working on Windows 7, the latest operating system for PC based computers, which we have 100 screenshots for you to view.
