Stealth LPC-625F: New Fanless Mini PC, specs and price
By: Peter Chubb | March 23, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe news of the Stealth LPC-625F fanless mini PC is a bit ironic, we all know how noisy a cooling fan can be, and my laptop certainly sounds as if it is running loud at the moment. The problem with cooling fans is how they draw dirt and duct into your PC and laptop, and that is not a good thing.
A number of people upgrade their own systems to feature a water cooling system, there has even been a mod of the Xbox 360. The Stealth LPC-625F Fanless Mini PC has been made from a rugged extruded aluminum chassis, this helps to provide superior heat dissipation, which does away with the need for a cooling fan. The design of the PC is not the best looking in the world; it looks more like a server to me.
The system is very responsive and is also energy-efficient, as it does not have to keep a cooling running all of the time. All of the hardware is much the same as other PCs, but with one major difference, quietness.
Microsoft (MSFT) should have built its Xbox 360 from extruded aluminum, as this could have prevented the RRoD problem
