Nintendo has said today that their Wii-Play software has now sold over 10 million copies in the US alone. Wii-Play features 9 mini-games and the package comes bundled with a Nintendo-Wiimote, a key contributor in the number of sales.
As reported by Eurogamer, Cammie Dunaway from Nintendo America stated: ” Even if you believe people are buying Wii Play solely for the controller, that indicates that there are now more than 10 million people who have an extra Wii Remote controller in their homes.”
While everyone has their opinions on the Wii, the console has their own huge following with fans and this is evident with all the record-breaking figures we keep hearing about. With fresh titles on the way such as The Conduit as mentioned earlier today and a new Resident Evil sequel on the way, the Nintendo Wii is doing a good job in keeping competitive with the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360.
