Need for Speed Shift confirmed for September release on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and PSP

A press release which was handed out today has confirmed that Need for Speed:Shift will be available from September 17th in Europe and September 22nd in the US. The highly anticipated racer will be released onto PC, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360.

As reported by VG247, The press release from EA also gives out some details on the game. You’ll be able to choose from vehicles like the Pagani Zonda F, Porsche 911 GT2 and Lotus Elise, whilst venues will include the likes of Brands Hatch in the UK.

Patrick Soderlund, Senior Vice President at EA Games Europe thinks that Need for Speed Shift will ‘’set out to create a racing game that pushes the genre and delivers something never before seen in a Need for Speed title.”

Are you pumped up about this game? Perhaps you are still devoted to the Gran Turismo series and will wait for that one. The comparisons between the two will start to come in thick and fast we think. It’s going to be a busy 2009 for EA.

Yeah, we’re still waiting on NFS: Undercover on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Maybe we’ll just have to wait for Shift.
