Latest on Apple iPhone OS 3.0: Find My iPhone and MobileMe
By: Peter Chubb | March 23, 2009 | Leave a CommentLast week saw the big iPhone OS 3.0 preview event from Apple (AAPL), and we covered just a few of the new features coming to the iPhone, but with over 100 new enhancements, it was hard to cover all of them. Two new features that passed us by were Find My iPhone and MobileMe.
Apple Insider managed to find these new features in the beta version of the new software, but it is not known what the features will do, but by the sounds of it, you should be able to get the handset’s locations remotely by using MobileMe. However, you do have to be paying for that service. Ok so this is not as intereastingas Copy an Paste, but it is different.
The new feature appears under the MobileMe account setting, just go to‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars’ settings. Once this is activated, a sheet pops up to ask if you want to “Find My iPhone” service on your MobileMe account. It is still not 100 percent if this feature will make it to the full version of iPhone 3.0 OS, but it would be a nice feature to add.
