HTC are the makers of the T-Mobile G1, the first Google Android handset, and now HTC (2498) have launched the Dream on the TIM carrier for those who live in Italy. HTC have made certain that they have enough stock in and are now ready to start pushing them to users.
Unlike the T-Mobile (T) G1, the HTC Dream only comes in one color black, but the carrier is offering 2 options to get hold of the device. The first is free on contract, or if you are willing to pay €429 ($580) for a pay as you go option.
The G1 has already gotten off to a great start as the handset has made the largest profit for T-Mobile compared to its other handsets. Things are starting to look up for the Google (GOOG) Android handset, we reported a couple of weeks ago that the Apple (AAPL) iPhone could be outsold by the Android by 2012.

The problem with this: 90% of Italy uses prepaid cell phones. So the G1 will probably do even more poorly than it did in other places.
I have to agree with you there.
