In a recent FCC filing, Acer (2353 )looks set to launch a new model, and it could be the most advanced AA1 yet. Rumor has it that this latest laptop will be the Acer Aspire One and will have an 11.6-inch display, so not sure if it is a notebook or netbook. There could be a clue in the full size keyboard though.
The rumored specs of the AA1 are as follows, the port arrangement is different to previous Acer models, the VGA and RJ45 ports still maintains their unusual placements. Precious AA1 models used the Intel Atom N270, but this new models will use the Intel Atom Z530 and Intel SCH USW15S chipset along with integrated GMA500 graphics core.
The new Acer Aspire One 11.6-inch is thought to have a longer battery life; much of this is to do with the screen. You should be able to get 4 hours with the standard battery and up to 8 hours with the high capacity battery.
The Acer Aspire One 11.6-inch looks set to go head-to-head with the Black Samsung NC10-11PBK, which also has a good battery life, over 9 hours.
