Xbox 360 increase sales by 53 percent

Buzz This

Microsoft (MSFT) have claimed that sales of its Xbox 360 games console for February saw an increase of 53 percent, from the same time last year. The Xbox 360 games console managed to shift 391 thousand units in Feb, up from 309 thousand units in Jan.

Much of this increase in sales is largely due to the September 2008 price cut, which meant that you are now able to purchase the entry-level Xbox 360 for $199. The price cut also allowed the 360 to have strong sales of the holiday period.

Things seem to be going well for the Xbox 360, as Microsoft confirmed that Grand Theft Auto IV expansion, The Lost and Damned, set a new record for first day sales for Xbox Live digital downloads. Halo Wars was launched on March 3 and has already sold more than 1 million units worldwide.
