
Move over RRoD, new Xbox 360 hardware failure: E74 error
By: Peter Chubb | March 20, 2009 | 2 CommentsMicrosoft (MSFT) has worked hard to try to end the RRoD issue on its Xbox 360, and they finally think that they have worked through the problem. The trouble is it looks as though there is a new hardware failure issue.
Joystiq as well as Google Trends seems to be seeing a trend at the moment, it looks, as though there have been a steady increase in the amount of discussion of the E74 error, going back to mid-October 2008. As yet there is no information as to what model or year of Xbox 360 are being affected by this issue.
Engadget have been doing some homework and report that it looks to be related to a video problem. The website say that this could be the cause of either a faulty AV connector or a loosened ANA / HANA scaling chip.
So what are the symptoms: visual glitches, such as random lines or snow, single red light on the console, this will be on the lower right quadrant. To read the full article and to learn more click on the source link below
