Microsoft Surface 2.0: It’s not Second Light
By: Peter Chubb | March 20, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe announcement from Microsoft (MSFT) that Second Light is not Surface 2.0, this is despite claims that disagree with them. Microsoft has also hinted that a larger more advanced model of the first Surface could be developed.
An article from the BBC said that Microsoft was developing a more advanced version of Surface codenamed ‘Second Light’. Microsoft demoed a Second Light back in October 2008, which we could clearly see had two projectors.
It is also assumed that Second Light will also include HD quality camera and infrared sensors, this does away with the need of an object actually touching the surface. There are no details as to what the purpose of the Second Light will be, but maybe it is something to do with showing us the possibilities of the surface-computing platform.
