Cisco deal with Pure Digital Technologies: Closer into Consumer Electronics

The networking giant Cisco Systems, Inc (CSCO) has taken a step closer into its movie into Consumer Electronics with the announcement of its plans to purchase Pure Digital Technologies. The company is expected to pay around $590 million in stock.
Pure Digital Technologies are the makers of the pocket-sized Flip line of digital video cameras. This deal will allow Cisco to bring wireless sharing features to this cheap camera designed for the consumer. This move is the perfect deal for both companies, Cisco get the best from the deal, as they will be able to push its own gadgets on to the consumer market.
Pure Digital have come a long way in the few short years, the cheap Flip camcorder made them a success. These video cameras could easily fit into your pocket and record up to 60 minutes of video footage.
Once this deal is done, then Pure Digital Technologies will have a nice comfortable seat next to Linksys, who have also been purchased by Cisco. Watch out consumers, Cisco is coming.
