Sony PS3 and PSP Price Cut: What will it do for you?
By: Peter Chubb | March 19, 2009 | 5 CommentsFollowing on from the news yesterday about the Sony PS3 price cut, many of you will be hanging on to purchase a new Sony (SNE) PS3 or PSP until you learn more about the rumored price cuts, CVG say that Retailers have allegedly been told of the new prices the games console and handheld.
They were told that prices will be reduced very soon, something that Sony had always refused to do in the past. There are two reasons why I think this is, the first is that they wish to shift more units, and the second is that as we are a recession consumers have to tighten their belts.
Those of you that already a own PS3 will not benefit from the price reduction, unless you are looking to purchase a second PS3. Could this lower PS3 price be what some Xbox 360 owners are waiting for, to jump ship?
The rumored price for the 80GB Sony PS3 is $399 and will be reduced to $299, which is a saving of $100.
