PS3 Uncharted 2: Naughty Dog talks weather particle effects

Richard Lemarchand from Naughty Dog has recently spoken out on the weather effects seen in upcoming PS3 sequel Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. He claims that the ice and snow effects seen in the new game will have a similar impact that water had in the original game.

As reported by Eurogamer, he said the team has been playing very close attention to how the weather will affect gameplay in Uncharted 2 and gamers will be surprised at just how much detail and preparation has gone into the game so far.

He stated: “We’ve spent a lot of time focused on the distinctive look that snow has as it falls and is blown by the wind, and of course on the way in which Drake leaves footprints as he trudges through the snowdrifts in the Himalayan mountains that he ventures to.”

Here comes the part we like, “When he’s out in the snow he’ll accumulate a layer of snowflakes on his clothes and in his hair, which will slowly thaw when he gets back inside, under cover.”

It’s shaping up very nicely then for Uncharted 2. The game is yet to recieve a release date but we’ll let you know soon as we hear of it. Let us know what you think about Mr Lemarchand’s comments.

I’m so looking forward to this game, the original is platform defining. It’s a shame it fell below the radar of so many people.

If I had to say which was the better game, Halo3, Gears2 or Uncharted Drakes Fortune, it would be drakes without a doubt. Sure there it’s a single player title, but the storyline is very strong, the AI is brilliant, and the graphics breathtaking.
