For those with a BlackBerry handset you will be pleased to know that the music discovery service Pandora is now available. Now BlackBerry (RIMM) can finally join Windows Mobile (MSFT) and iPhone (AAPL) users with this cool app.
The application has been made available for the following handsets, Bold on AT&T, Curve 8310 on AT&T, Curve 8320 on AT&T, Curve 8330 on Verizon. The app is also available for a range of Pearl handsets, such as Pearl 8100 on AT&T, Pearl 8120 on AT&T, Pearl 8130 on Sprint and Pearl 8130 on Verizon.
You might have noticed that the BlackBerry Storm was missing from that list. It seems funny that the handset, which was dubbed the iPhone killer a few months back, cannot even have a simple app like Pandora. If anyone one knows why this is, then please let us know.

The only folks calling the Blackberry Storm an ‘iPhone killer’ were media types like yourself. You do it with any major touchscreen release and, quite frankly, it’s getting a little old and shows a serious lack of imagination. Here’s a clue: When a company makes a device as unique and iconic as the iPhone, there IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ‘IPHONE KILLER’. No matter what phone anyone comes out with henceforth, because of the way the iPhone has captured the market and the public imagination, there will be no phone to kill it. Perhaps, now you guys can move on…
As for Pandora, it apparently runs on Blackberry OS 4.3 which leaves Storm users out. It has nothing to do with how the phone was touted, or how “simple” the Pandora app is. The fact that Pandora doesn’t work on the Storm is all on Pandora. The good folks over at Slacker seemed to have no problem bringing their wonderful music app to the Blackberry Storm.
Seeing as the Storm is presently the top money-maker for Verizon, I’d say Pandora better get cracking.
I must adgree with DW “100%” . The storm can download, stream, buffer at high, impressive devices more then I’ve ever seen on any p.d.a. for that matter. Pandora is leaving it out, not the other way around.
