Nintendo Wii supply will be ‘sufficient’ this time say GameStop
By: Alan Ng | March 19, 2009 | 1 CommentGameStop SVP Bob McKenzie has spoken in a lengthy interview about the supply issues surrounding the Nintendo Wii. He also had a word today on the recent price increase in the UK and said that this will not be occuring in the US.
When speaking to GamaSutra, he said that the price increase in the UK was due to the British pound becoming weaker as a result of the economy.
When quizzed about the supply shortages of the Nintendo Wii and if the company would be suffering again, he stated: “I think finally we’ve gotten to the point where we’re going to be able to get a real good run rate on this thing. You know, three years later, we finally have enough inventory on the shelf, and we’ve got a couple of weeks in supply of this. That’s good because we can finally determine and gauge it before we get into the fourth holiday season.”
Good news then, if you’re hoping to pick up a Wii in the US. Theres more from Bob McKenzie in the link above.
