iPhone OS 3.0 firmware: April 17 release date rumor
By: Peter Chubb | March 19, 2009 | 55 CommentsSince Apple (AAPL) held its preview of the iPhone 3.0, OS there have been a number of rumors as to when we will see the update made available to iPhone owners. Apple said that the firmware update will be sometime in the summer, but we have been told by one of our readers that it will be available on April 17.
The reader first remarked on people’s comments saying that the beta was not leaked, it was made available officially as he was using it. He then added that the full version will be available on April 17, he added that we had better mark that date in our calendar.
The reader did not add anything else to his comment, just that it is everything that Apple promised. I am not too sure how accurate this is, as Engadget also have the Beta version of iPhone OS.3.0, and they said that although it is great, it is still has a lot of lag. This is something that I do not think can be solved in one month.
