Sony PS3: More price cut rumours

Im sure most of you are wanting the speculation to end sooner rather than later, but we have heard fresh news that a PS3 price cut is coming, this time from over in the UK.

According to CVG, a major UK retailer told them that they had recieved word from Sony that a PS3 price drop was ‘definately’ coming soon, although they failed to give a price or date. (What a surprise).

The story states: “It’s been on the cards for a while,” they said, “but manufacturers are not in the habit of giving exact dates so as not to effect sales”.

Interestingly, top UK retailers Game and Gamestation also declined to comment on these rumours, but just said: “Price drops are always welcome, but can’t I give you any specifics.”

So, before you start ‘ranting’ at us, we’d like to point out again that this is just a rumour and the fact that we are just keeping you up to date with what is going on.

I think it’s not until you buy a 360 that you realise the PS3 is good value for money. Trouble is if you don’t want a Blu-Ray player or wireless then its benefits are pointless. The PS3 needs a price cut to remain competitive, especially when it’s parents that are paying. Despite requesting a PS3, no kid is gonna be upset with a 360 when they see how good the machine is.

Once you’ve bought a 360 M$ still have you though if you want to play online games or download the latest demo - you need to pay for Live. I’d be more upset with this if it wasn’t for the fact PSN is so slooooooww in comparison.
