Online gaming up 50% since last year

Vlad Ihora, who is the head of gaming at TeliaSonera International Carrier has said today that the growing popularity of online gaming is having an big impact on the overall growth of the internet.
In an interview with GI.Biz, he revealed that online gaming has increased by a huge 50 percent in the last 12-18 months. He talked about ISP’s and how they are starting to become more aware of the importance of online gaming and making sure they recieve a good service.
When talking about Blizzard’s World of Warcraft, he stated: “You get companies not related to gaming which are interested in hooking up to our network because there are certain games which run on our network that make it relevant for end-users.”
