By: Peter Chubb | March 17, 2009 | Leave a CommentA number of wireless markets around the world are aware of the name Telefonica (TEF), that name is about to disappear as it gives way to the name Movistar. The telecom giant is now rebranding itself around the world.
Telefonica, is known as O2 in parts of Europe and will live on in the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Slovakia and the UK. We are not certain what this will mean for the millions of customers of Movistar around the globe, one thing is certain; there are a lot of letterheads that need reprinting.
News of this rebranding has now started speculation once more that Telefonica have managed to sign a deal with Palm (PALM) to have exclusivity to the Pre in certain markets.
