It was an almost certainty and now a reality, the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone v3.0 firmware has been previewed at the Apple event today.
Lots of iPhone owners have been excited about the release of iPhone OS 3.0 and while we are still getting all the details, here is what we know. Background processes (something a lot of us wanted) was said to use too much battery life (unlucky for those that want it).
This is what Apple has made public so far today: Streaming audio and video APIs, Push notifications, APIs for apps to use Maps (this enables turn-by-turn directions), Accessory apps, Peer-to-peer connectivity via Bluetooth and In-App purchases for subscriptions.
