Palm Pre vs Apple iPhone Safari: The web browser test

All the latest Smartphone’s certainly have some amazing hardware in them, but where would they be without the all-important mobile browser. This software has to be small but able to run quickly, like the mobile Safari browser for Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone. Palm (PALM) are to launch their new Pre handset in Q3 of this year, and the Pre will use the Webkit-based mobile browser.

There is no denying the fact that the iPhone Safari browser is smooth and fast, but it still cannot keep up with Palm Pre’s web browser. There are a number of tests that have already been done on both these browsers, and they are all conclusive, the Mobile Safari is like a snail compared to Palm’s new web browser.

So what makes the Palm Pre web browser so fast, maybe it has something to do with the OMAP3 processor. The old ARM processor in the iPhone just does not stand a chance. Just maybe we might have found a successor to the Apple iPhone.

Oh yes, and I’m sure you got lots of hands-on time with the pre. Not shorting the stock at all either, right?

    You guys suck.

Why do Iphone users hate the Pre so much. I have and love my pre but i have nothing against the Iphone. Seems really silly to me.
