House of the Dead: Overkill on Nintendo Wii wins Guinness profanity award

House of the Dead: Overkill has recieved positive response from critics since it’s recent release on the Nintendo Wii. After getting an 8 out of 10 score from the likes of Eurogamer, GameSpot and Edge, the game has received another interesting award, this time from Guinness World Records.

In a story over at Softpedia, the game has won the award for being ‘the most profane game ever’ as it features the F word a whopping 189 times throughout the game.

What’s even more interesting is that one of the writers for the game is proud of the title. When hearing news of this, Jonathan Burroughs said: “It is a dubious honour to receive such an accolade working in an industry where so often the fruits of your labours are derided and dismissed for being puerile or irresponsible, but in the case of The House of the Dead: Overkill a little puerility was the order of business.”

Well, I guess congratulations is in order for the House of the Dead team. Never thought we’d say this but this is one Wii title that you might want to lock away from your children..
