Gaming on Apple TV: Do you want it?

There have been a number of reports that gaming could be coming to Apple TV (AAPL), and it is not stupid to understand why Apple would want to do such a thing. You have to ask yourself is Apple TV ready for games, one of our readers pointed out that gaming would be stupid on Apple TV as it does not support that kind of resolution needed for gaming.

CNET reported that a set of patents had been filed at the USPTO for a wireless controller for the Apple TV. Many assume that this controller could be used for a number of things, including gaming, but this is all speculation.

The hardware in Apple TV has more power than is currently being used at the moment, so something like adding gaming does make some sense. Once Apple get behind an idea they will go all out on it, look at the success that Apple have had with gaming apps on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
