Buy.com Green on St. Patrick’s Day: But really to save the earth
By: Peter Chubb | March 17, 2009 | Leave a CommentToday is St Patrick’s day, which is the day that millions of people will be dressing up in green to celebrate this holiday. Buy.com is now thinking green on a larger scale by trying to decrease its impact on the environment with a huge advertising push.
Did you know that you could save money, time and the environment if we all shopped online. In a recent study, it showed that shopping online reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 35 percent; compared to shopping in a high street store.
This does make sense, if you shop in a store you as a consumer will need to drive to the store from your home, increasing your carbon footprint. When you purchase from an online store such as Buy.com, the whole process takes fewer steps to get that product from the manufacturers’ warehouses to your home.
