Apple iPhone gets MMS with OS 3.0 update
By: Peter Chubb | March 17, 2009 | Leave a CommentYou can say this about Apple (AAPL); they have certainly packed many great new features into the upcoming iPhone OS 3.0. The new copy and paste feature got the most reaction from the crowd, but news of MMS also went down well.
Multimedia messaging has been a long time coming on the iPhone, but before you all get carried away, MMS will only be available for 3G owners. Looks like first-gen iPhone owners miss out on this feature, this comes as a huge disappointment to thousands of people who still own the original version.
MMS will now enable iPhone 3G users to send and receive photos, audio files, contacts and locations with the new message app. It is assumed that Apple might put SMS and MMS together in on single app.
