Today at Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone event we have heard about the amazing sales figures of not only the iPhone but also the iPod Touch.

Apple’s Greg Joswiak said that before they had shipped their first cell phone, they set a goal to sell 10 million phones. He then reported sales of 17m altogether, which shows also that people have accepted 3G.

With the iPod Touch running the same operating system, Joswiak said that the total sales of both devices equals over 30m units sold.

Joswiak went on to explain how Apple has had over 50,000 companies and individuals join our dev program and over 800,000 downloads of the free SDK. The fact that 60 percent of these developers have never developed before shows how easy it is to get started into this marketplace.
