PS3: Killzone 2 a few weeks later, what’s your review now?

Well it’s been a good few weeks now since the release of Killzone 2 onto the PS3, how is everyone finding it? While the single player offers a great experience, its ultimately the online mode and its class system that has kept gamers coming back for more.
Do you think all the positive hype and reviews for this game was justified, or were you left unimpressed after exploring the game properly? We thought their speedy patch update to combat control issues which some people were complaining about, was first class.
What are your views on the classes in the game? Would you like a new class to be implemented via DLC or are you satisfied with the current selection? Perhaps your getting frustrated with the amount of RPG’ers in the game and think the weapon needs to be tweaked slightly? Let us know your views below.

Still loving the online, and also intend to try the single player again on Elite soon. I’m in a clan and practice regularly with a clan match at least once a week. I’m finding it’s holding my attention very well, I can see me still playing the online in several months time.
I’ve also discovered playing the smaller games are generally much more fun than the chaotic 32 player matches!
Hopefully some substantial new DLC and patches will be implemented over the next few months - I would like new game modes, new classes/medals/weapons/abilities and new maps - I would also like to see some free enhancements as well as paid - and when it comes to paid I hope they follow Warhawk’s lead with low priced maps that also add new gameplay elements - rather than just 4 maps and nothing else new at some ripoff price…
First off, I am not a fanboy of any sort, I own both a PS3 and a 360. Killzone2 has passed all my expectations, the hype was huge, and it delivered. Compare that to say Halo3 or Gears2 with similar hype, and these were a major disappointment (sill OK games, but the sense of letdown is still there).
Sony had a hard task living up to the hype surrounding KZ2, and I think they definitely succeeded in exceeding peoples expectations. It’s really a shame that too many 360 owners are so locked into Microsofts PR machine, that they dismiss anything PS3, as they are missing out on one hell of a game. (and not just KZ2, these days, I see more great games on the PS3 than I do 360)
Killzone 2 (8.1) - Each level seemed like the last with not alot of imgaination. After 5 years of development I expected more variation and imagination. With no COOP Mode is seemed boring and bland.
(ENDING) - Was terrible. Indefinate Re-Spawing Enemies was obvious and forced. That was all they could come with for an ending?
The ‘gunplay’ was right on and looked great. MultiplaYER was fun but a bit static.
OVERALL - 8.1 “The campaign was no MGS4 and the Online is no WARHAWK.
Fantastic. Brilliant. Addictive. Amazing.
Killzone 2’s campaign was great, but the multiplayer is what keeps me coming back. I’ve never experienced such intense, completely insane, crazy battles. If you’ve given up on KZ2 MP, give it a chance…once you level up a little it becomes a completely different beast.

Ha, could not have put it better myself Mike! Trying to level up the Engineer class at the moment, taking quite a while I must add..
Cannot wait for DLC for this game, it will be worth the wait I’m sure.

I have both a 360 and ps3. I love them both. KZ2 has tipped the scale for me. Online is amazing - game is amazing and best looker ever - period. This along with all the other current ps3 exclusives has changed the way i look at the 360 [which is a cracking console] - but i dont think it deserves the next gen title. Its taken time for me to realise the ps3 is a better console. The titles coming this year along with the ps3 exclusives i own completely out weigh everything. All i have for my 360 is gow 1 n 2 and pgr3 [as 4 was kack]
for my ps3 i have mgs4, sf4, ds, dmc4, gtp5, udf, resistance 1 n 2, kz2, lbp.
well done to sony and guerilla for making this an awesome game!
One thing i hate about the multi-player is the sniper’s spot n mark. Even though i have the cloak activated, i am still a walking target!!!! Cloak should negate spot n mark to make it more realistic.I’m pretty sure somebody will reply to this message saying that i am a bloody ass camper. In a matter of weeks u’ll understand my pain:)
HAPPY SNIPING NEWBIES!=3
This game is like a fine wine
gets better with time ..!
i have ps3, and expected alot more from killzone. the single player with its awesome graphics was a let down. first off the storyline did not keep me at all interested, i found myself bored within the first few days of play, the endless supply of enemies was so annoying, i wanted to gauge my eyes out.
The multiplayer, a better part of the game is alos disapointing. not enough ranks, takes a full clip to kill a person and is not responsive enough. i cant believe it took them 5 years to make this piece of shite. i cud have made this in my garden shed. cod is a million times better, and will continue to keep me interested until the next installment of cod comes out.
7/10 for killzone 2, glad i paid £30 and not £50
Great game that really delivered. Levelled up online to get the trophy and like a previous poster, I’ve had more fun in smaller games than large ones. My only gripe is how bland the maps feel. I decided to re-vist COD:WAW after I heard that the glithes had been fixed and the maps are so colourful and varied in comparrison. I wish I could combine the non’lag gameplay of Killzone 2 with the maps of Call of Duty. Also, some more variety to the online levelling up would have been nice too.
Finally, please give us a deathmatch mode. I always fall back on Deathmatch when I start to get bored and Killzone would really benefit from this, at least on the smaller maps.
the game is awesome
good single player
multiplayer is SWEEEEET
tactician
engineer
medic
CoD doesnt have it
no real lag, no real glitches
what more do you F’ing want??!!?
