New Facebook home page, feel the Twitter
By: Peter Chubb | March 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe have known for some time that Facebook were to revamp its home page, and yesterday was the first time that people were able to use the new home page. One thing that users have noticed is how much it looks like Twitter.
The home page displays updates from your friends in the center of the page, with a “What’s on your mind?” appearing above. All the usual stuff is still there, such as photos and apps, but this new design puts your friend’s updates right in your face. I feel that Facebook wants you to spend all your time worrying about want your friends are doing instead of you getting on with your own life.
In addition, what shows up in the stream is App-driven updates, which Facebook see a s a great tool for you to know what is going on in your friends like. I have never been a fan of Facebook, when speaking to a few of my friends who have a Facebook account; it seems as if they all know each other’s business, something I do not like the idea of.
