Microsoft decided to give more details of its version of the App Store, Windows Marketplace. The software giant has said that it will charge $99 a year, as well as $99 for each app that they submit to Windows Marketplace store.
Microsoft is offering a great deal for developers, those who register this year will be able to submit five applications free of charge. Developers have complained about the charge, but Microsoft has defended its decision. They said that in order to make certain that this network of resources are not used in a malicious way, they said that doing this is very expensive.
Microsoft has said that they will be offering developers complete transparency throughout the application submission process.” The software giant said that they will also offer direct feedback, something Apple have been criticized for, as they are slow to respond to developer questions.

Oh, so the $99 is an “entrance fee” in essence? That’s not the best reason to charge the people who’ll provide your content, especially when you’re going uphill against the very established App Store/iPhone behemoth.
