By: Peter Chubb | March 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentGoogle have re-launched is phone management service, the old name for this service was GrandCentral; the new name is now Google Voice. The service has kept most of the original core GrandCentral features that made it so good, such as voicemail transcripts, archived searchable SMS text messages and conference call functionality.
Google acquired GrandCentral in 2007, Google Voice gives you just one phone number to ring your home, mobile or work. The great thing about this service is that your Google Voice phone number acts as your main number.
Google Voice is still in is closed beta stage, but Google hopes to open up the service to the public within the next few weeks. Google Voice is free to use, user can place free U.S. calls through this service. If you wish to make an international call, you just have to pay a small fee.
