Last night was the video game BAFTA awards and Little Big Planet came away with the ‘Artistic Achievement’ award. Media Molecule co-founder Mark Healey has spoken out on his delight at their success.
When speaking to Eurogamer, Healey talked about the significance the award could have on future sales. ”It probably is good to help get recognition, because it is a big industry and it does pull in a lot of revenue compared to all the other major entertainment industries.”
He also had some kind words to say for the crazy creations gamers have been designing for some of the game’s custom levels. ”The one that I’ve seen most recently that really blew me away was a homage to Dead Space. I’ve obviously sat down and used those tools myself, and I can see the amount of effort that’s gone into that - it’s amazing.”
With a PSP version on the way this year, looks like the guys at Media Molecule will be keeping busy.
