Apple iPhone and Twitter: Tweetie 1.3 rejected
By: Peter Chubb | March 11, 2009 | Leave a CommentiPhone users are scratching their heads wondering why Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) have rejected Tweetie 1.3 from being made available on its App Store. Apple has said that it is because it contains “offensive language” in search results that was returned from public Twitter trends rankings.
The iPhone Blog has decided to let us know what they think of this latest decision by Apple. The iPhone Blog makes a good point when they say that you can search for a range of offensive things on Mobile Safari. It seems that they expect their developers to become sensors, even though they are not.
Let us not get too ahead of ourselves here though, as the App Store review processor could just be a rogue who was just having an off day. However, this whole review process needs to be reviewed, as apps that iPhones users actually want are not getting through, which could hurt the Smartphone in the future.
