Maytag Corp. is working closely with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, to make certain that the recall is handed in the correct way. Maytag have received 41 reports of the relay problem, 16 of those reported damage to their property due to smoke damage in their kitchen.
The recall includes a number of Maytag refrigerators, these include the Amana, Admiral, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef and Performa by Maytag and Crosley brand side-by-side and top-freezer refrigerators. Those refrigerators with the freezer at the bottom are not included in the recall.
