After Sony denied the recent rumours of a predicted price cut between April and June, another analyst has spoken out and agrees that a PS3 price cut is just around the corner.
As reported by Gamers.com, Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has backed up comments made by Mike Hickey from Janco Partners on a 100 USD price cut. Not only that, but he also thinks the PS2 will receive a $30 price cut too and that the chances of these price drops happening were of a “very high likelihood”.
So, over to you again Sony. Let us know what you think of Arvind Bhatia’s comments.

The reason why Sony denies any price cut rumors is because if they acknowledge, then no one (AND I MEAN NO ONE) will buy a PS3 until the price cut comes active.
That will hurt sony’s bottom line.
But…I’m not buying because of the price right now. I want a ps3…quite badly, but I will NOT pay $499 for one. Yes, I know it plays blu ray, has a free online MP (unlike xbox live gold), and much more…but I just cannot justify $499 for a 160gb system. $399 or $299 is much more easy to afford, and I would have some left over for a game.
Another thing I don’t understand is why the current gen systems ALL include only ONE controller. That is an undebateable assanine attempt to get more money and should be frowned upon.
@ Jorge - 1 controller per console has been the practice as long as I can remember. It’s not assinine, it’s merely following tradition.
And as VinTheDean stated - Sony’s will never announce in advance, their price cuts. Nor will they confirm them anymore. Too often these ‘analysts’ will predict a price cut, which simply decimates unit sales, because people are cheap. Yeah, Jorge, you’re cheap. You want instant gratification without having to pay for it. Typical type of gamer these days. I paid $700 for a BC 60g, and I freekin LOVE it. My roommates 360 is RROD’d in his room and makes a great paper weight! haha.
Additionally, my PC stomps the dog meat out of the 360+PS3 combined, so either way I spin it, I get all the PS3 exclusives, and all the 360 exclusives (that then hit PC). There’s no need to deal with any faulty 360 hardware.
