Latest Apple Netbook Rumor: Shipping Third Quarter
By: Peter Chubb | March 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentThose Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Netbook rumors just do not seem to go away, and it seems that our hopes of getting our hands on the ultimate Netbook are looking good. A Chinese paper, the Commercial Times said that Taiwan-based Wintek will be providing the touchscreen panels for the Apple Netbook and will ship in the third quarter 2009.
The paper has also stated that Quanta Computer will be the maker of the Apple Netbook, how much truth in this we do not know. Wintek has confirmed that it is involved in a co-operation with Apple that will see them both develop a new product, but they did not say what those products are.
TG Daily said that when Wintek said that they were working on a new product with Apple it is not guaranteed that it is a new Netbook, it could be a number of other products such as a Mac tablet or even a new iPod Touch.
