Fan Overheating in 17-inch Apple Macbook Pro: GeForce 9600M Problem
By: Peter Chubb | March 9, 2009 | 1 CommentWe reported last week about the NVIDIA (NVDA) GeForce 9600M problems on the 17-inch Apple (AAPL) MacBook Pro, owner’s said that they were experiencing a number of glitches with the graphics card. It was no secret that the GPU was taking all the blame, but upon further investigation, it seems that faulty fan controls are to blame.
Engadget say that this is all speculation at the moment, but have said that owners have noticed that their fans on their 17-inch Apple MacBook Pro are kicking into high gear when they should not.
Engadget report that both Apple and NVIDIA are spending a lot of time trying to figure out what the exact cause is. The ironic thing is, just last year the MacBook Air suffered with overheating troubles, maybe it is a fan issue.
