Call of Duty 5 World at War Maps: Will they keep you from Killzone 2?

Call of Duty 5 World at War Maps: Will they keep you from Killzone 2?

By: Peter Chubb | March 9, 2009 | 18 Comments

Call of Duty 5: World at War was a huge success when it was released towards the end of 2008, but the game is having a hard time keeping gamers interested. The reason for this is the release of Killzone 2 for the Sony PS3. The developer feels that the way to keep COD5 fresh is by introducing new maps, and this month sees the first addition (Map Pack 1).

Call of Duty World at War was ok to begin with, but it did not take gamers long to get bored. This is why gamers are looking forward to this new content. It is no secret that gamers love a bit of gore, which is why they cannot wait for another Zombie map.

We all have a personal opinion, and mine is that most gamers will be placing down their old World War 2 guns and replace them with something a bit more high-tech. Gamers knew that Killzone 2 was going to be a good game, but they did not reckon on it being an awesome game. Killzone 2 has so much to offer, something that Call of Duty 5 does not.

Our question to you is will the new Call of Duty 5 World at War Maps be enough to keep you from Killzone 2?

Nope, I’m all about the KZ2 Warzone now…

the old maps will keep me from killzone, bought it and haven’t played it much. I hate the accelerating crosshairs.

  • George

Mark you’re a b**********, you don’t own killzone. Accelerating crosshairs? WAW in no way compares to killzone. They even had to add a gimmick (zombies) to sell it. If I wanted to shoot zombies I would get RE5 or go back to L4D, both of which are much better than WAW. WAW is just living off of COD4 owners hoping to get the same greatness. But Killzone has the best maps out right now. The shear size of them and the different levels owns even COD4. Also WAW doesn’t have 32 player multiplayer probably because the xbox’s peer to peer servers can’t handle 32 players.

Another article touting Killzone 2 without saying much of anything. CoDWW is still the most popular game on xbl. How you can say people are bored with it is beyond me.

This is a poor excuse for an article. It doesn’t really say anything.

    @ Gamer – That’s because KZ2 is a PS3 exclusive, enjoy playing a 2nd rate FPS. ;)

I’m playing KZ2 non-stop, CoD died to me after CoD2.

I bought kill zone 2 last week and i am largely unimpressed. Yes the 32 player multiplayer is good but the game play is not even close to either COD’s.

I personally cant wait for the new maps, im preffering COD 5 to COD 4 anyways!

  • riptiny

yea, i cant go back to call of duty 5 or 4. ccant stop playing killzone! cod5 stop being fun when people starteed glitching! i havent seen people glithcing on killzone because there isnt enough time to do that. killzone only have one type of camper(snipers). but cod campers are people who stay in the shadows of a well populated area of the map. so all in all, i enjoy the online expirience the most on kill zone, no map will change that

    riptiny –

You at least gave a reason. The author of the article gave no information whatsoever. When you write an article like this you have to justify it with some content.

    …cont.

I have plenty of fun playing CoD and so do millions of others. You are welcome to like KZ2 better. I’m sure it’s an outstanding game, no arguments there. But, saying CoDWW is second rate is just ignorant.

  • whennn??????????????????

    when??

  • barry white

morne is it? another ps3 fan boy trying in vain to rationalize his purchase of a doomed console. kz2 will come and go like the rest of the crappy, short lived ps3 library. the cod franchise will live on. have fun…

COD5 is the best Beats all

COD4 & 5 are pretty much the same game, different maps/guns. I own both killzone2 and COD and still play COD more. I like them both, but it really just comes down to what you like personally. I don’t think you can say which game is really better or worse, because it’s your own opinion, not the reality, and like someone else already said, it’s just ignorant. KZ2 in my opinion just moves too slow, even though I have it on max sensitivity, it’s aiming is a little off as well. But, like I said, they are both worth owning and are both fun games, but they are different games with different stategies, so you just have to play whichever game interests you.

COD 5 is way better then KILLZONE. KILLZONEis so shit, honestly COD has always been the best, killzone no way compares to COD. IF YOU LIKE KILLZONE BETTER THEN YOU ARE F**KED

  • Hadz

how can you say that xbox cant handle up to 32 players online on a server are you stupid….frontlines fuel of war can get up to 50 players on a server

  • Rhys

No your mum is the best

  • cgrfc1

I have cod 5 and KZ2 Both are great games let’s be honest there is no computer game in this world that you’ll never get bored with what is the point in arguing if there tottally different from each other. The guns in KZ2 are the only thing similar to COD4 and to all XBOX players Red ring of fire online costs your controls are less resposive than ps3 no web browser and the new update lets you instant message like msn and talk on the headset wen your m8s are in another game no annoying cooling fan noises either Microsoft have been doing internet for years upon years Sony have just begun! stuff like skype free music and video download service is coming and the ability to rent or buy films will be a reality aswell. In the uk currently there are no redeem code cards so if yu want stuff off the store you have to use a credit or debit card but who cares when for now you can gameshare from your m8s account. F**K the XBOX!!!!!!

i sense the feeling that people are forgetting cod is also on the ps3 and bigging up killzone to have a pop at the xbox, the xbox is good, cod is good and most of all so is the ps3 good, 99% of people who dont own one wouldnt turn it down if they had the chance. its got some great features such as being able to connect any bluetooth headset and the ability to buy a third party HDD upwards of 200GB for about 40 notes. i have an xbox and not a ps3, for another week atleast.
