PS3′s Killzone 2: We say bye to Call of Duty 5

PS3′s Killzone 2: We say bye to Call of Duty 5

By: Daniel Chubb | March 8, 2009 | 10 Comments

Having reported a lot of news about Killzone 2 and played a little here and there for review and news purposes, we knew the game was good.

For us, the best FPS game has been Call of Duty and they have improved one after the other. COD 4 was the best yet for us, although we still enjoyed playing World War 2 in COD 5.

Sadly Call of Duty world at war got boring much faster than modern warfare did, but thanks to the zombie mode we were kept entertained longer. Then came a little game that goes by the name of “Killzone 2”.

Killzone 2 has been given a lot of hype by both reviewers and gamers, but to say they are right would be an understatement. This game has taken FPS to another level. Both the graphics and online playing options are far superior to COD and any game before it.

This is before we even start talking about the options of clan games and playing against other clans. If you disbelieve what we and other sites say about Killzone 2, then you need to play this game for a day.

Killzone 2 will convert most FPS gamers for now (well the PS3 kind), but this may change when Call of Duty 6 is released. Happy gaming people and feel free to share your views in the comments.

I agree with this article but I feel that COD 6 will not be able to match the experiences Killzone 2 offers. The hype is so true Killzone 2 is the best FPS.

So, I’m not saying you’re wrong necessarily, but all you’ve said here is “Killzone 2 is better than Call of Duty”. That doesn’t give people much to go on.

Hopefully we’ll see another 50 Killzone 2 reviews and thoughts from product reviews here this week, as the 500 they’ve already published clearly isn’t enough!

If you want to carry on faking the “Read our site and trust us because we are impartial” stick, then maybe you should try and be a little more subtle.

Its so clear that the gaming section of Product reviews is now little more than a ps3 fanboy site.. and after desperate articles like comparing KZ2 to a 2 year old Halo 3, they’ve now sunk even lower by trying to get people to ditch the near perfect call of duty series in favour of this.
    Well nobody’s buying it!!

Loved COD4. The new world at war kinda sucks, I hate those old weapons. Killzone I am loving so much. The next call of duty needs to up the ante. 16 players online just doesn’t cut it. The thing that make killzone feel so real is all the 32 players; more people are better for these war games. I mean even resistance the 60 player team death match was like a real war, pure insanity. Killzone is more real than that but if the new COD was 60 player man that shit would be dope. I just can’t wait to try MAG. 256 players that will be crazy. And I’ll reiterate 16 players just doesn’t cut it for a war game anymore.

Well, it’s sure a welcome change from all the 360 fanboy sites which litter the internet these days :P . Killzone 2 deserves all the credit it’s been given and likewise as do all the kickass 360 games like L4D and Gears, so stop hatin’ and play the damn thing to see what all the fuss is about! :D

What are the average number of players for COD 4, COD WAW and Killzone 2 on PS3 through out the day? What is the most you PS3 guys have seen for these games? I am just curious since I am going to get a PS3 when the price drops. Does PSN even give out a list of the top 10 most played games online?

iv not played killzone 2 so i can only go on vids and screens, from what iv seen to say KZ2 has much better graphics then cod4 is wrong they are almost identical once you take out the main colour of KZ2 is BLACK where as cod has a more varied approach although the main colour is still grey, and sound well from the vids (on HD) the sound is also the same quality, and multilayer comparing the features they are the same, so to call KZ2 a “revelation” in FPS is a joke maybe a “Revelation” for the PS3 but for any other platform its the norm now

Xbox fanboy, save your opinions for when you actually play the game. It is not necessarily how it looks, which is spectacular, it is how it moves and feels. I dont like FPS, but this game has changed my mind!!!!

KillZone 2 is an awesome game.. flawless graphics..the feel is real but I’m just more of a COD4 type of guy. I still play both but play more COD 4 on my free time. As for COD WAW..it’s technically not 5 by the way.. didn’t really get into it much. Awaiting Modern Warfare 2.. the apocalypse is arriving. RUN!

I would not compare killzone 2 to Call Of Duty: World At War. They are 2 very different games and have different features. KZ2 is a futuristic shooter that focuses on warfare across OUTER SPACE. Probably taking place 200+ years from now. They are very different guns and different gameplay. WaW is a game focusing on a REAL war from over 60 years ago. They are different games. KZ2 has a more efficient matchmaking system and bigger online matches with more players. While WaW has a local multiplayer and extra “Nazi Zombies” gameplay mode. Both are great games which i would strongly reccomend buying.
