Microsoft to end sales of Xbox 360 Elite?
By: Peter Chubb | March 7, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere have been a few rumors going around that Microsoft is considering ending sales of its Xbox 360 Elite in a number of places around the world. Microsoft is thinking of moving the Elite into a Limited Edition role for the Xbox 360.
Fuzzilla have said that the story that they heard was that Microsoft will stop taking orders for the Xbox 360 Elite; this should be at some point in the second quarter of 2009. This will allow stores inventories to run down. It seems as if retailers would much prefer to have a low-end and a high-end version of the popular console.
Once stocks of the Elite have been depleted then the console will take on a Limited Edition role, which will only be available in North America and Europe much like the recent Resident Evil 5 Red Elite Limited Edition console.
