Sony UK: PS3 reaches 2 million, PSP passes 3 million
By: Alan Ng | March 5, 2009 | 1 CommentSenior Vice President and Marketing Director for Sony UK, Ray Maguire has revealed that the Playstation 3 has now reached the 2 million units sold milestone. He also stated that the PSP is still performing well with 3 million units sold in the UK to date.
In a report over at VG247, Maguire was speaking in an interview at GI.biz on how Sony UK were having a tough time at the moment due to the economy and in particular, the British Pound.
He did speak about the recent figures though and said: ”If you look at the RRP that we’ve had out there for 2 million units, and compare it to PlayStation One and PlayStation 2, it’s amazing that we’ve got to this kind of level. It also shows that we have potentially more longevity in PlayStation 3 than we had in the previous PlayStations, simply because if the price goes down we’ve still got a massive market place to sell in to. ”
