RIM’s New BlackBerry App World: Competing with other mobile app stores
By: Peter Chubb | March 5, 2009 | Leave a CommentRIM (NASDAQ:RIMM) have finally made a decision as to what the minimum price should be for their apps, $2.99. This news looks potentially good news for developers, but not so great for Blackberry owners as they were expecting RIM to offer the apps for 99 cents.
It is not all bad news as free apps are still welcome, not that there will be many of those as developers still have to pay to submit them to the store. Most blackberry customers are happy to pay $3 for an app that is good, which is the same for iPhone customers.
A number of Blackberry customers have asked if store applications can be stored on an external SD card, and the answer is simple, apps cannot currently be stored on an SD card, Blackberry App World do not permit it.
