New Nokia 5800 Firmware: Will fix reception / signal problems

Nokia (AMS:NOKA) do not want their North American customers to give up totally on the 5800 and wait until the N97 is launched. The Nokia Blog has just received some great news from someone who works for Nokia. The Nokia 5800 NAM issues with the reception / signal problems will soon be fixed.

The updated firmware that is on its way has been tried and tested, and no problems with connecting to 3G were found. The original firmware that came on the Nokia 5800 NAM was v11, so if it is indeed just a firmware problem, then we should hopefully see the handsets back on shelves at the US flagship very soon.

If this update does fix the problems then Nokia 5800 NAM owners can just download the firmware upgrade once it becomes public. Please come back soon, once the update is made available we will give you more details.
