Apple iPod touch racing wheel from Hama

Hama has had a number of boring items at their CeBIT booth this year, consisting of items such as cases and USB drives. However there was one gadget in their booth that needed a closer look, the Game Wheel Speed-X, which is a racing wheel for the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPod Touch.

Engadget was on hand to take a closer look at the wheel, and noted that an iPhone 3G should also slide into the center easily. I like the way in which Engadget described the gadget, a “Wii Wheel for your favorite Apple handheld.”

There is one problem with that though, how many people will carry this big piece of plastic around with them. While watching one of the videos I have to ask myself, what is the point? I love my Apple iPhone and have a few apps on there, but playing a racing game is not one of them.
