Its finally official, Nvidia have today announced the GeForce GTS 250 graphics card which looks set to go head to head with ATI’s Radeon HD 4850 card. The GeForce GTS 250 is based on the GeForce 9800 GTX+ and will feature 1GB of memory as standard.
If you were not aware, there are a lot of similarities between the GeForce GTS 250 and GeForce 9800 GTX+. The GPU of the GTS 250 will be based on Nvidia’s 55nm G92 core, which will be clocked at 738MHz with the stream processors running at 1,836MHz, which is the same as the GeForce 9800 GTX+.
As reported by Bit-tech, no pricing details have been released for the UK, but you will be able to pick the 1GB card up for $149 in the US. While the two cards are very similiar in specs, the GeForce GTS 250 is a lot cheaper than what the 9800 GTX+ was.
We’ll let you know when we have a UK release date. Will you be picking up one of these or do you prefer ATI’s Radeon HD 4850 card? Let us know your opinions below ?
